Swim Lesson Program
Swim lessons are FREE to all members! Lessons will be offered in two sessions. Lessons will be offered as two 4 week sessions Mondays – Thursdays. Morning Lesson times are 9:30, 10:05, 10:40, 11:15 and 11:50. Evening lessons are 5:10 and 5:45.
Session dates are as follows:
Session One June 11th - July 5th *No lessons July 4th
Session Two July 9th - August 2nd
Swim lessons are American Red Cross based, all lessons run 30 minutes in length. Pending availability, members may sign up each session for one-time slot/level per child.
Evening lessons are limited in number, and are intended for those families unable to make it to morning lessons. Please select your lesson times accordingly. Students must be willing to participate without assistance from parents. Lesson placement is determined solely by successfully completing American Red Cross skill testing (by instructor and management) and scheduling availability. Realize it is normal for most children to repeat various levels multiple times before fully acquiring and mastering essential skills required for the next level. Each level adds new strokes and distance requirements, as well as refinement of stroke style.
American Red Cross Lesson Level Summaries:
Level 1 - Introduction to Water Skills. Helps students feel comfortable in the water and to enjoy the water safely.
Level 2 - Fundamental Aquatic Skills. Gives students success with fundamental skills.
Level 3 - Stroke Development. Builds on the skills in Level 2 by providing additional guided practice.
Level 4 - Stroke Improvement. Develops confidence in the strokes learned and to improve other aquatic skills.
Level 5 - Stroke Refinement. Provides further coordination and refinement of strokes.
Level 6 - Swimming and Skill Proficiency. Refines the strokes so students swim them with ease, efficiency, power and smoothness over greater distances.
